![]() ![]() The distance from the main panel to the outlet also affects the size of wire you need. If the circuit is 240 volts, you will need #8 AWG wire for a 50 amp circuit and #6 AWG wire for a 60 amp circuit. For a 120 volt circuit, you will need #14 AWG wire for a 20 amp circuit, #12 AWG wire for a 30 amp circuit, and #10 AWG wire for a 50 amp circuit. The size of wire you need for a 100 amp service depends on the voltage and the distance from the main panel to the outlet. What size wire do you need for a 100 amp service? In that case, you’ll have to stick with a 15-amp circuit. That means that if you have a limited amount of space in your panel, you may not be able to accommodate a 20-amp circuit. But, because 12-gauge wire is larger in diameter than 14-gauge wire, it requires more space in your electrical panel. The National Electrical Code (NEC) recommends a minimum wire size of 14-gauge for 15-amp circuits and 12-gauge for 20-amp circuits. The second factor is a bit more complicated. So, you don’t necessarily need to add up the watts for every appliance and device in your home just those that would be running at one time. Keep in mind, however, that not all appliances and devices use electricity at their peak wattage all the time. The first factor is easy to determine – you just need to add up the wattage of all the appliances and devices you use at one time. The size of your home’s electrical service is determined by two factors: 1) the amount of power you need and 2) the amount of space you have to accommodate a larger service. ![]() Your home’s electrical service has two parts: 1) the main service panel where the electrical utility company’s power comes into your home and 2) the secondary distribution panel (or panels) where the main service panel distributes power throughout your home. This is the wire size that is typically used for residential applications. The minimum wire size for a 100 amp service is 4 AWG copper. How to calculate the minimum wire size for a 100 amp service For example, a 100 kcmil wire has a cross-sectional area of 10,000 mm2 (100 cm2), while a 100 AWG wire has a diameter of 2.58 mm (0.101 inches). The main difference between AWG and kcmil is that AWG is a measure of the diameter of the conductor, while kcmil is a measure of the cross-sectional area of the conductor. AWG is used in the United States, while kcmil is used in Europe and other parts of the world. Both are measures of the diameter of a wire. What is the difference between AWG and kcmil?ĪWG stands for American Wire Gauge, while kcmil stands for kilocircular mils. Copper is a better conductor of electricity and is less likely to overheat than aluminum. When choosing wire for your 100 amp electrical service, always choose copper rather than aluminum. For example, a 15 amp circuit can use #14 AWG copper wire or #12 AWG aluminum wire. The size of the circuit breaker is determined by the size of the wire that feeds it and the amount of current that is expected to flow through it. Each circuit in the panel is protected by its own circuit breaker. The main breaker protects the wires that feed it and all of the other breakers in the panel. For example, a home with a 100 amp main breaker can use #4 AWG copper wire or #2 AWG aluminum wire. The main breaker is sized according to the size of the wire that feeds it. The main breaker in the panel will be rated at 100 amps and will protect all of the circuits in the home. Most homes in North America are serviced by a 100 amp panel. The size of the wire is measured in either American Wire Gauge (AWG) or square mm. The wire must be able to carry the load of the electrical service without overheating or causing a fire. If you are planning to install a new 100 amp electrical service in your home, you will need to purchase the proper size wire for the job. ![]() The National Electrical Code (NEC) has a specific requirement for the gauge (thickness) of wire used to connect the electrical service to your home. ![]()

![]() ![]() For some people, the number on the scale determines what their mood will be like and they prefer not to weigh themselves at all. Some people claim that you should only measure yourself and track weight loss by your clothes. Weight fluctuates daily so weighing in every day will not give you an accurate picture and can be demotivating. Basically, there are three different opinions: How often should you take measurements or weigh yourself? Either don’t wear anything or wear just underwear. Use the bathroom before you weigh yourself. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you eat or drink anything. If you weigh yourself at least once a week, you may have more success with weight loss than those who check in with the scale less frequently. Research suggests that if you weigh yourself regularly, you will be more successful in losing weight and keeping it off in the long run. Weigh In Day What are the benefits of tracking your weight? The calendar below is more flexible and you can add anything you want to it such as motivational quotes, food logs, water trackers, meal plans, habit trackers, etc. The following weight loss calendar template only tracks your weight and total weight loss. A workout journal can help you determine that your fitness is improving. If you have started working out as well as eating healthy food, you might want to track your workouts as well as your weight loss. I used to ask my kids to hide the scale, but I always found it. It is so frustrating! Sometimes the scale doesn’t budge, but we are losing fat. I have often spent weeks watching my diet and working out regularly only to find that I haven’t lost an ounce. We also offer a free printable body measurement chart in bullet journal style below. You can change the border and the layout of the chart. Weight Loss Measurement Chartīody measurements for weight loss chart in different formats. Some weeks you might be above the goal and others below the goal but a weight loss chart is still a helpful guide assuming your goals are realistic. The graph to the right will show you where you stand compared to your initial weight loss goals. The chart will let you know when you should reach your goal weight and what weight you should be at each week assuming your weight loss will be steady (which is highly unlikely). To use this weight loss graph, complete the following details (each detail that needs to be completed is outlined in black): Initial weight, starting date, goal weight, and target weekly weight loss. This of course, assumes that you set realistic goals for yourself. Therefore, a weight loss graph is a great tool to show you if you are going in the right direction at the approximate weight loss pace you initially planned. It usually fluctuates and dieters often encounter plateaus for different periods of time. You can change the weight loss tracker chart by adding additional columns or deleting columns you don’t want to appear. This is a weight loss tracking sheet in Word format above. For each weigh-in you will see the total loss since you started and the average loss per week. The weight loss program chart will show you how much progress you have made since you started. If you want to keep track of your measurements, you can add an additional column/s. It calculates your BMI when you start, your goal BMI and your BMI after each weigh-in. The weight loss goal chart will always keep a record of how much more you have to lose to reach your goal weight. Simply enter the date of the weigh-in and the average weight loss will be calculated for you even if you weigh in weekly. There is space to add a weekly weigh-in but you can weigh in more or less often if you prefer. This weight loss chart is available both in pounds and kilograms. You can add additional columns with measurements or delete some of the columns. Feel free to change the weight loss template if you want to make changes. The Excel weight loss tracker above will track your total loss and how much weight you still need to lose to reach your goal weight. ![]() ![]() ![]() FedEx InSight: an app that lets you find the status of your inbound, outbound, and third-party shipments without a tracking number. My Global Trade Data: a collection of useful online services that give you freight forwarding and customs brokerage information.Tracking a FedEx package for businessĭoes your business ship goods regularly?
